Who Watches TV Outside?
Was thinking about buying a tv to watch outside under the awning and wondered if anyone else does this. The mount is already there.

Not me. The last thing I want to do when camping is watch TV. I can do that at home.

I have to smile at your question.
5 Years ago sitting in my tent - Look at those people in RV's, why did they even bother, if your going to camp dang it.. CAMP.
3 Years ago sitting in my tent - Look at those people in RV's.. Hmm.. looks kinda nice.
2 Years ago sitting in my RV. Look at those people with TV's. If their going to camp dang it, then CAMP.
1 Year ago sitting outside my RV watching TV.. Wow.. Look at all those poor people sitting in tents... They don't know what their missing....
In short.. Don't worry.. If you want to watch TV inside, outside or on your roof then do it. Camping is for fun.. So have fun.... YOUR WAY..... Whichever that may be...

Agreed! Also, I figure no one next to me wants to see (or hear) my tv either.

Really the only time we watch TV outdoors is during football season when a good game is on.
A few years ago during the Stanley Cup Finals (Blackhawks/Bruins) we had the TV out for Game 6 in which Chicago won the cup. During the game, fellow campers stopped by to check on the game and to chit chat. By the third period, we had about 25 hockey fans sitting around my camper drinking barley pops and other adult beverages. A couple about 5 sites away brought with them hotdogs and hamburgers and fed us all after the game. I started a campfire at dusk and the party ended just before the quiet hour of 10:00PM.

I do it occasionally but everytime I do it I end with folks stopping by and asking whats on TV...
Then when we have to leave the area unattended we have to put the TV away inside the trailer.
Even when we are back on the trail somewhere someone will walk up and ask whats on TV haha...

This...
We watch very little tv while camping but I wouldn't mind an outside one. My sister-in-law has one on the outside of her camper and we watched a football game last camping trip. It was fun. As long as your not bothering anyone, camp as you see fit. I have a sister who makes it clear real camping is in a tent. I tell her camping can mean different things from one person to next.

Don't have a TV outside, but when I'm BBQ it would be nice to be able to watch the football games. That's about the only comment I guess i can make.

I camp in some remote areas. On a warm summer night it's nice to watch a MLB game by the fire and have a drink with friends. Camping is about good times. The outside tv is just an additional entertainment tool for those time when it's appropriate

Yes, we watch Tv outside at night (smoke and bugs permitting), Monday through Friday nights usually. We spend 4-5 months away from the city life and watching Tv out side in the mountains after all the old snow-bird farts (I'm just an old fart) have turned in for the night (after sunset), is great. Mostly watch the RAYs baseball games and some movies off of Apple Tv. All comes to an end on the weekends when the campground gets more campers that like to light up a nice fire using their wet wood and I have to head for the inside, or take a trip to the hospital... lungs can no longer handle any kind of smoke. For most of the regulars here when the sun goes down the lights go out..

I am not a big fan of listening to music while camping either. And I am a BIG audio\videophile at home.

I enjoy watching a little TV outside. Sports, news, movie its all good. We tend to travel more now than just camp for the weekend, so I enjoy a little TV after a long day of sightseeing. It is what makes you happy.

Being in my OFF-ROAD POPUP camper all the time I really like the idea of keeping tabs on the Weather storms etc... Especially the wind storms... This is usually the last thing i do each evening to check on what might be heading my way...
This is with my inside TV setup however haha... I'm also a big fan of the WX RADIO with alarms setup.

We have a 40" LED in our front cargo bay and the 32" in the outdoor kitchen of our 375BHFS that we watch anytime the weather is decent. Then again, we have a seasonal site that we spend nearly 100 nights a year at and enjoy all our creature comforts.

We camp over New Years every year. Watching football outside has become part of the tradition. Kids are now getting into the "Ball Drop" so that was watched outside this year too. The rest of the year we don't typically set up a TV.
I do love those who say TVs defeat the purpose of camping; but somehow RVs, Generators/Solar Systems, Plumbing, HVAC, Refrigeration, etc don't.
