Winterizing - Battery Removal?

We live in Saskatchewan. Temp drops to -40C/-40F regularly throughout the winter. Should I remove the batteries ( I have 2) and put them on a trickle charge (from time to time)r for the winter? or just disconnect them? or leave as is? Thanks

In your situation I would remove and do the trickle charge in your garage/basement where you have some warmer temps.

If you are stored by the house you can put the trickle charger on them while still in the RV.. but disconnect them from the trailer ...as the phantom loads can be greater than the trickle charger can handle. Otherwise remove them to a heated area with the trickle charger on..

Put the batteries inside. You do not want them to freeze.

Thanks much for input. Will pull them and trickle charge them over the winter.

When maintaining your batteries with any type of charging device, check the cell fluid levels once a month...., add distilled water if low.

I remove my two 6V deep cycle batteries from my TT and keep them in the garage hooked up to a BatteryMINDer, does more than just trickle charge the batteries:
