If you were happy with the power from the first truck then you should like the new truck. The engines are close in torque.

Actually there could be a big difference if one has a tow package & the other doesn't, The gear ratios will make all the difference. There is usually a tag on the rear differential cover with the info or mabe you have it your paper work when purchased. You can also check the codes on the tag on the door jam, not the vin number.

My Brother-in-Law has ALMOST the same set up as you do.
He has been very happy with the set up. His next trailer will require him getting a newer truck with a bigger motor and more power, but for now, he is satisfied.
He has taken his set up all over Minnesota and South Dakota for the past 7 years with now problems.

I had a 1998 Ford F150 with the 4.6 V8 pulling our 25RKS and found it rather poor on hills.
I now have a 2006 F150 with 5.4 V8 and 3.73 gears and find it AWSOME for our set up.

I think an added transmission oil cooler would make life better for your transmission. You also neeed a good brake controller. Also one size smaller with your tire size can also effectively help lower the final gear ratio. (if you are ready for new tires)

Thannks clutch.I think i will install cooler on tranny.I also installed one on my silver.I just dont like the ideal of splicing into new lines that dont leak if you know what i mean.Didnt have no problem with silver.Just all aftermarket coolers want you to cut lines. Thanks.
