12 Chevy 1500 hitch replacement?

I am looking to replace my OEM hitch. My pin holes have elongated a lot and that makes me leary about hooking up and hitting the highway. Local hitch store said 6000# was biggest they could get. Has anyone replaced theirs and with what?

Put on a Curt C15323. Rated 2400 TW and 16,000. Got it from etrailer.com. Real heavy duty, easy install, and reasonable price.

A welding shop can weld a plate over the holes and then drill new holes for less than the cost of a new hitch. You might consider that if it is not rusting out.
