2013 Ram 1500 with new V6?

Is anyone towing with the new V6? Supposedly with the 3:55 rear end it will tow 6,000+.

Thanks for any reviews.

No experience towing with one but the Pentastar 3.6 is one sweet engine. My wife has one in her Wrangler, rated at 285hp.

Unless you are towing something really light though I'd opt for the 5.7 hemi. You would be happier overall with the towing performane in the long run and your fuel mileage will not be much different. Same weight and frontal area, same amount of power necessary to get her rolling and push it through the air. The only difference is the six works harder to do it.

I have a V6 4Runner, I think rated at 236hp.
It's rated for 5,000lbs, but I wouldn't go bigger than 3,500 loaded out.

Best regards,
Doug

That V6 is allready trying to move a 5-6000lb truck, add another 3-4000lb TT plus passengers and cargo in the TT & TV plus wind resistance & you will probably get half the life out of that motor. Just my $.02 Larry

Wait a few months and you can get the 3.0 v6 diesel, if they stand behind their word and produce it.

I have an '09 Ram 1500 with the Hemi; test drive the 2, believe me opt for the Hemi. the only problem with the 1500's is the rear coil springs. the only model have not seen sag was the TRX but not offered anymore, make sure the GVWR sticker in the door is the highest available with the tow package offered. but a set of Timbren SES corrects this.
