2014 Ram 6.4
For those that want a little more in the gasser Ram lineup a 6.4 Hemi will be offered in the 2014 Ram 2500 and 3500 HD trucks.
The 5.7 Hemi has been the top gas offering in these HD trucks since the demise of the old 488 v-10 cast iron engine, leaving somewhat of a hole in the line up. The 6.4 Hemi previously had been only available in the high performance SRT line; however, a reworked version designed for more low end torque and higher output is slated for the 2014 Ram HD trucks.
While I'm not in the market for one, I have thought for years this was sorely needed. It should be a plus for those wanting a Ram with a little more power and not wanting to go the diesel route. Time will tell.
