Well, I put in another order and as you know it's going to take another 6 to 8 weeks but I'm not in a hurry to get something the way I want it.

Well, we just made our first trip with our new truck and hitch set up. Roughly 400 miles from Abilene Texas to Robbers Cave State Park OK. Truck and hitch did awesome. Mostly traveled 65 mph and averaged 8.7 mpg. Never once felt low on power and mostly stayed in 5th gear, which is top gear in tow/haul. Would pull hard and finally downshift if needed on steep hills. Downshifts are smooth. Way smoother than my 12 CTD. It did once downshift to third on a long grade. RPMS hit 4000 and it gained speed and up shifted to 4th before we crested the hill. I'm way satisfied.

What model 5er are you pulling with that 2500? Also what is your pin weight? That looks to be a large 5er for a 3/4ton. It handles it well from what you say. Just curious I own a 2500 6.4 myself.

It's a 2014 Eagle 34.5 bhts. I haven't actually weighed the pin weight. I believe empty its around 1800 lbs. The truck handles it great. The newer rear suspension is really stable. The air suspension makes it even better. If you need more information, I will be glad to help.

It's good to hear someone pulling some good weight. Our camper is around 9k loaded I think. Never actually weighed it either We have 2014 314bhds eagle. Everything I've read on other forums is better have a one ton for anything over 12k gvwr 5er. The weight police as people say. Really I don't know if anyone really knows what the legal limits are on these trucks. Is it the gvwr or the ragwr. I have heard two different trains of thought. It's ok to go over the gvwr ad long you are under the axle weight ratings. Or do not go over any ratings. Which if you go by the latter our 3/4 tons could only pull a half ton 5er. If perhaps someday you could weigh your setup that would be cool. Thanks.
