I averaged 6.5 mph to Florida and back couple years ago with the 6.0L and 3:73. Around the state I average 7.5 towing 12.2 overall

My 496 big block gets 7.5 mpg towing the camper and close to 10 without !!

Funny I could get 7 - 8 towing and 10 - 11 without in my Silverado SRW 1 ton 8.1L with a 4.10 and an Allison 1000 transmission.

My 6.0 gets around 9 towing, have seen 16 on hiway not towing. The 5.3 got around 10 towing. But I`m no speed demon.

I used to get around 8 towing with my Vortec 454 and about 10 in town. Went up to about 12 towing and 14 in town with I got my Duramax.

My old Burb with the 454 got around 6.5 towing. But it was one heck of a puller!

of course I was at 15,200lbs on the scale on the way down to Florida!
