Quick search says:

Dry trailer weight 6030 lbs
Gross trailer weight 8600lbs ( loaded with water, propane and gear )
Tongue weigh is likely 860- 1200 lbs


2015 ram 1500 has a max tow of 10,500 and a rough payload capacity of 1700 lbs

Payload is the more challenging number here as you must add passages and gear to the truck payload as well as the tongue weight

Looks like it is within limits but could be close.

You will want a weight distribution hitch

I wouldn't go any further, and if I had the choice, I Would go to the 2500, but that's just my preference

Be sure to confirm the real GVWR and Payloads of the truck and the GVWR and tongue weight of the trailer. ( stickers on truck and TT )

Oh yea, don't take your dealers word for it. Many have found out the hard way that they are under/over sized

For that TT I'd go 3/4 ton. If you go 1/2 ton you'll be constantly trying to make it tow better. You'll have to watch the trucks weight like crazy. With a Ram 2500 or any 3/4 ton for that matter you could load all you want, still have load room left and have a much better towing truck/trailer setup. Speaking of setup, with the 3/4 ton truck you won't be back on here asking how to get ride of the poor handling. Very rarely does any 3/4 ton owner come on these forums and have TT towing issues.

You know the published TT weight. Add 800-1000# to that for your "stuff". Estimate the tongue weight (15% of the TT weight, loaded).
Gas up and hit the CAT Scale. Add the drive axle weight to the estimated tongue weight. Are you over-under the Rear GAWR?
This isn't the exact answer, just an estimate but it will give you an indication of how close you will be on the weights.
The CAT Scale is your friend.

I can answer from experience, we have a new 27RLS with Elite Pkg, Thermal Pkg, Aluminum Wheels and the Fiberglass Sidewalls. The yellow sticker weight as built with propane is a little over 6900 lbs so with battery and our "stuff" we're at 7500 lbs and the tongue weight is 1050 lbs (weighed with a Sherline tongue weight scale). We have pulled it with our F-150 Ecoboost and on a smooth level highway it tows real nice. However, when the wind kicks up or there are bumps and undulations, the ride isn't so smooth. We only have a 1500 lb payload capacity, so with the wife, dog and some tools, we are at our limit. This combined with a short wheelbase and being outweighed by the trailer by 1700 lbs does not lead to the most comfortable towing experience. It can be done but I'm going to replace the F-150 with an F-250.

3/4 ton is the way to go!
