5er to TT

Looking for comments from anyone who has gone from a 5th wheel back to a TT. Such as why, good or bad, etc. etc.

We went from a 30' Carriage 5th wheel to a Jayco Eagle 330rlts trailer. The biggest reason was so I can utilize the bed of my truck. Also we don't have to climb steps once we are in the trailer. Our Jayco has 3 slides (also a fireplace) & the 5th wheel only had 2 slides. The truck rides ruffer pulling the trailer than it did pulling the 5th wheel. I took off the Timbren's and put on air bags, the ride is a little smoother now.

Thanks bounder...You have mentioned some of the things I have thought of. Have you noticed any difference while towing? I had a 24' TT before my 5er and I did have some problems with sway that I do not have with the 5er. But, I believe a better hitch would have fixed that issue. Other than that I do not remember any big difference between the 2. Except for maybe hooking up. I do have to admit hooking up with the 5er is a lot easier and faster.

It tows nice, but I do notice a little more sway when the big trucks pass me, but the trailer is 36' from the tongue to the rear bumper. I haven't driven in any strong wind yet.

Sounds like no big regrets going back to a TT? Notice any difference backing, maneuvering, etc.?

We had a 32ft Montana and hated it. We are very happy with our TT. I really can't tell any difference towing our 330RLTS.
