5th wheel and Tundras

Is there anyone out there towing 5th wheelers with a Tundra? If so I would like to know what you are towing, setups, experiences, etc. Pics if possible.

Thanks

5th wheel and Tundras

I've only seen one tundra with a 30' or so 5'er. I never actually saw it while it was driving, only in the campground.

I was talking with a guys yesterday that had a 30' 5ver.
He had a Tundra and loved it, but had to go a full size Ram to be comfortable towing.
I think you almost have to go with one of the big 3 heavy duty trucks for a 5ver in my conversations.

Visit the nearest CAT scale with your Tundra and see what it weighs, and subtract that from its GVWR. That should be your starting point in evaluating what trailer you want to put behind it. More details here:

I came across this site several years back when I was pondering whether to get a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton truck. Changing Gears has a lot of really neat stuff and help pages, but the best was this part of the site with a 5th wheel calculator. http://changingears.com/rv-sec-calc-...eight-fw.shtml If you know all these numbers, it will tell you whether or not you can safely tow with you truck.

I have used this site for the last 2 trucks for towing.

I am just 460# shy of my GVWR of 6900# on my Tundra with 760# tongue weight. (CAT scale) This is with only me in the truck and a full tank of gas. Once I add the DW and some stuff in the back seat and the bed I will be about 200# shy of GVWR. The pin weight of a 5ver will probably put you way over your GVWR. I see a 3/4 ton truck in your future! I have essentially the same truck as you and it weighs 5700# with me (185) and a full tank of gas.
