Air lift 1000

We are looking at installing air lift 1000 in our pathfinder because it apparently stiffens up the rear end of the tow vehicle and keeps it from compressing too much when the weight of the trailer is connected to the hitch. Just wondering if anyone else has used this product or a similar one and any thoughts on it. Our 2011 pathfinder can pull max 6000 lbs and our 23j is 4500 dry. Of course we are already getting anti sway and wdh.

Phar0e,

I'm not familiar with the product itself, but do have friends that have added air lifts to their TV's and for the most part felt that it was worth the investment. It will firm up the TV's rear sag a little when towing, but doesn't increase a TV's weight limits.

Also, check with the manufacture of the air lift product you purchase and confirm if the system should be de-activated (or minimum air pressure) when initially installing/adjusting your WDH under loaded TV/TT conditions.

The X23J has an impressive CCC of 2,310lbs, be careful of your loaded TV/TT weights. http://www.jaycoowners.com/showthread.php?t=3866

I have Firestone air bags on our truck. They keep the truck level and make towing a little more comfortable. As Bob mentioned they will not increase the towing capacity of the vehicle. When the tow vehicle is level it will handle better.
