I have a 07 tahoe basically the same thing. It has the 5.3 engine and 206000k miles on it. I dont use it to tow with but it does still run great. These newer engines will go 200-250 k without problems with proper maintenance.

As you can see we are using a 2002 Yukon with about 150k miles to tow our TT. Ours is 4700# dry and the Yukon pulls it with ease.

I don't know if it would be worth 15K. Is there any way to negotiate the price down?

If it is at a dealer you should be able to negotiate. I never pay what they want for a vehicle. I actually left a dealership once because they would not match my price. They called the next day and sold the car to me for the price I wanted.

Too high then. $15k is more like a dealer's retail price.

Regarding miles, don't be too scared of that. If you come to an agreement on price, stipulate that you want the mechanic of your choice to give it a once over. Ask about maintenance. Were the plugs and O2 sensors replaced at 100k? Has the transmission fluid been changed every 50k, rear differential every 30k (front also if 4WD) as specified in the maintenance chart? Have all recalls been performed (I don't believe there are too many on that truck)?

Many who are towing are doing with high miles on (including mine! just turned 100k earlier this summer). There are 176 people in this forum towing with over 100k on the odometer. Granted a portion of the really high mileage trucks are probably diesels.

We towed our old trailer on a cross country trip of almost 6k miles with a '95 'burb that had 125k on when the trip started. My dad has that truck now and still tows with it at almost 200k. It's all about how mechanically sound the truck is.

we have no idea on maintence before 130k , thats when he bought it. it was a lease up to 36k miles. im thinking now of leasing a ram 1500. im gonna be 260ish for the yukon, 300 gets me a 1500 ram for 2 years, im only towing the camper with it mostly. to many choices lol
