Aux Fuel Tank

Just install a Transfer Flow 50 gallon tank in the bed of my truck.
It was tight, but fit with about 7/8 of an inch to spare. Found a
real good deal on CL I couldn't pass up. I couldn't use the Trax2
control so I wired it to my Aux 5 in upfitter panel. Used a fuel neck
kit from RDS and it works great. Now i can carry 81 Gallons.
Total spent about $ 400.00.

Question? I've thought about an auxiliary fuel tank, but at 7.49# per gallon, will 50 gallon tank, which will add another 375#, plus the weight of the tank make much difference in ones cargo carrying capacity..probably adding 400 more pounds in the bed of the truck..I'm just wondering if anyone who add's these size tanks can tell a difference when loaded..

Hi NC Hauler, Total weight i've added is under 500#.
With a cargo cap of about 3800# and my trailer hitch
set up and trailer hitch weight of about 2800# it should be ok.
I'll find out this summer. With just the fuel in it, the truck rides fine.
The tank is baffled.

My aux tank holds 50 gallons. Full or empty I've never noticed a difference in ride or MPG. BUT, being able to pick and choose when/where I get fuel is 'priceless.'
