Axle flip or drop hitch?

I have a 2005 Jay Feather 25E, which I tow with a (stock height) 2010 Dodge 2500 4wd. The difference in height requires a full 6" of drop to pull my TT level. I would like a wdh for the sway control, but can't find one with that much drop without spending WAY more money than I want to on a hitch, especially since I don't need the weight distribution as much as I just want the sway control. Can I flip the axles on this trailer for extra height, or am I just stuck?

I don't know if you can flip them, our 2007 Jay Feather had torsion axles. I suppose a competent fabricator/welder could easily make a lift kit for it though. You could also look into taller tires to give more weight capacity as well as some lift.

It's either those or pony up a few $$ and get the correct hitch. You could always sell the Ram and go with a lower truck.

You could add a sway control bracket plus add on sway bar to your existing tow ball mount: https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories...e/RP26003.html and: https://www.etrailer.com/Weight-Dist...ies/83660.html

Now THAT'S the answer I was looking for, thanks!!

One concern..forgive my ignorance, but why does it say that sway control does not allow backing up? What happens if you back up without disconnecting it?

I'm getting that...but why? What does it do that prevents backing up?

The issue is that if left tight, it can bind and bend.

Thanks! I've never dealt with sway control of any sort, wasn't sure how it worked.
