Buying a 26.5 BHS - Pullrite Auto slider or Optional Reese Revolution for shortbed

Towing with a Dodge Megacab. Can't make up my mind after searching the entire web reading post after post. Anyways maybe a vote? +1 for Pullrite Auto Slide or +1 for Reese Revolution. Maybe someone will mention something I haven't thought of or already read. Any opinions would be great and Thanks in advance!

I don't own either, I use a manual slider so I can't add a whole lot of info. But, between the two I'd go with the Reese Revolution. Mainly because it is attached to the trailer and would allow you to get a normal hitch that isn't ridiculously heavy and take up your whole bed. You will need a engine hoist to remove the Pullrite Autoslide. I can take my manual hitch out by hand in only a few minutes.

I have the Reese Revolution on my 29.5BHDS, and I am really glad I went that route instead of any slider. I like it for the exact reason UPCamper gave, I don't have a hitch that takes 2 men and a boy to get out of the bed. For a hitch I run the Reese Titan 16K and it breaks down nice into 2 very manageable sections.

Do you have the Ram Box bed? If so, only the Revolution will work without any major mods from everything my buddy found on line and his experience. My buddy knows all about it due to a "truthful" salesman at Gillellet's in Lansing!!!! Said he called the company and the Pull Rite would work, no issues on a Mega Cab Ram Box truck!!!!!!

My buddy has the pull rite and is very happy with it after a few trips (once mods were done to work with the RB!!!). It was a tight fit installing or removing at first, but seems to have "worn in" now a little....

No Rambox, and from the other posters it sounds like the Pullrite takes of a lot of bed space but works well.

The Reese Revolution option still sounds like the best, but I was curious as to wether anyone who has used it vs. a standard hitch on a long bed can comment to the actual towing characteristics. From what I have read many say that it backs up better, but while driving forward it tows more like a pull behind. Does anyone have any real world experience using the two?

I know the amount of firewood has been drastically reduced that he can haul (when allowed). Not sure if there is any space available between the hitch and the tailgate....

Interesting point about the Revolution pivot point being further back compared to a normal 5ver hitch. Based on the pivot point, is double towing still allowed with the Revolution????

Yes it seems the Reese Rev. free's up a ton of bed space. I'm guessing forward tow characteristics don't change that much, being as though the overall length of the pin box is comparable to the same length as a non- pivoting pin box. Looks like the main difference shines when trying to maneuver the trailer in reverse, but would still love to hear some opinions on the actual tow characteristics. I would assume that triple axels would still be allowed but not 100% sure.
