CAT Scale App

I imagine most of you all know about the new CAT "Weigh My Truck" Scale app, but I figured I'd throw in my $0.02 on it.

I'm definitely loving this app. Simply pull onto the scales however you choose, open the app, confirm the scale location that it pulls up for you, wait a few seconds and drive off.

PayPal charges you the weigh fee and you get a PDF of the scale ticket e-mailed to you within a couple minutes max.

You can go inside the store to get a paper copy, but the PDF version looks identical and you never have to leave your vehicle. You do not ever communicate with the weigh master, the app does it all for you.

Last week during our camping trip was the first time I tried it and man was it simple and quick......and I never had to attempt to reach that button way up there .

Best of all, the app is free.

I tried the app last weekend and it didn't work for me. When I hit the green "Accept" button it said "see attendant" or something like that. I went inside to ask about it and the clerk clearly had no idea what I was talking about. She was able to walk me through it the old fashioned way however. Glad it worked for you, I'll be trying it again on our next trip (at a different location) to get true trip weights.

I did manually key in the scale number that was displayed next to the call button outside.

I think it's supposed to auto-populate the scale number but mine did not, as soon as I typed the number in and hit accept it worked fine.

It auto-populated for me and I double checked that they matched as well but still no luck. I'm sure it'll work next time. I hope it does since it seems like it makes it easier and quicker.

Does it support multiple trips over the scale?
Oops, just read the FAQ's an see it offers $2.00 for qualified re-weighs.

So does the PDF have all 3 axle weights on it? I saw this months ago but the web page says

"PLEASE NOTE: The CAT Scale Weigh My Truck App is only available for Standard weighing. If a Split-axle or Double weigh is required, please use the CAT Scale Intercom."

I read that as it may only give a total gross weight and reweighs would not be included?

Its still posted on the weighmytruck.com where you sign up.

The pdf version has all the same information as the paper copy (steer, drive, trailer, & gross weights). I believe that wording on the website might be referring to commercial rigs with double trailers since they have a different procedure to follow as the scale isn't really set up to handle two separate trailers. Reweighs are included, in fact the cost is exactly the same.

Looks just like the ticket you get at the counter.
