Chevy Prep Package help please

We just got a brand new Chevy 3500 SLT with the tow prep package containing 4 holes in the bed of the truck for a 5th wheel and one for a gooseneck. The Chevy dealer told me to get that for it would be all set to transfer over our Pullrite autoslide. Now that I have the new truck and paid for it she tells me that they do not make adapter plates for the Chevy yet and may be 2 months before they come out. This in essence ends our camping season now that I cannot pull my 5er. I called our RV dealer and he said to be careful of the adapter plates for they add 4" in height and the new truck sits 3" higher than my 2500 did so I would be adding 7"!! I hope not to get rid of my autoslide for I paid multiple thousand dollars for it and I rely on the slide in the corners and for backing up. Do you folks have any ideas and or recommendations??

Ouch! Can the pin box be lowered and the suspension raised? That would get more clearance. That said I pull with a short F350 with the factory mounts (pucks) and do not have a slider. My insurance co paid $500 for me to learn I needed the slider. That said, I still have the same setup but am careful when backing or making U-turns (when my "oops" happened) and the factory mounts are super convenient. Sine the initial "learning" event we haven't had any serious issues turning.
Most dealers will tell you anything to close a deal, I rely on them to provide a cost that we can debate, I do my own research for everything else.

Why not just mount the Pullrite in the bed like the old truck was? Yeah, you paid for the prep but it is still worth something when you sell the truck later. Why let that end your camping?

I thought that may work but apparently the 5th prep has a thick steel plate in the way to do the traditional mount and so they would have to take the box of the truck off, the steel plate and the mounts and then reassemble. The dealer informed me that they highly recommend against that and if I want it done they believe it will be a minimum of 10 hours labor that I will have to pay for (their labor rate is $125/hour)
