Did the dealer give me the right bars?

I just picked up a 2014 198RD which is 4200lbs dry and a hitch weight of around 485 (I think). They threw a WD hitch into the package and had it all hooked up before I could really ask about it, and just assumed it was the right one. They gave me the 600lb bars - does that sound right for this trailer? The pass through storage is at the front of the trailer and I keep probably 100lbs of gear in there at all times.

It is based on your tongue weight. I am at 425 tongue weight and have the 600 lbs. bars on my Equlizer brand hitch, guessing that is what you have. You don't want bars any stronger than that or you can damage the tongue of your TT.

The 198RD has a GVWR of 5,900lbs, so based on the manufacturer's recommendation of a loaded tongue weight of 10% to 15% of the loaded trailer weight....., towing at the 198RD's GVWR this would be 590lbs to 885lbs tongue weight. A loaded trailer weight of 4,700lbs would be 470lbs to 705lbs loaded tongue weight range...., etc..

The WDH rated at 600lbs would be fine as long as your personal trailer loading habits don't exceed a 600lb loaded tongue weight.
