When I had a camp trailer, pulled with a F-150 running on gas. Now driving a motorhome, and still running on gas. Ford V-10, no power issue and getting 11-12 mpg towing mini van on a dolly @ 4100 pounds.

Gas F250. Couldn't justify the extra $8k for Diesel plus the extra maintenance costs. More expensive air filter, 13 qts of oil, urea at oil change, DPF ($1k I think) if it plugs!

Diesel, like the low end torque and resale value.

Gas. I only tow 3-4k miles a year and drive another 12-15k unloaded. No way I could justify a diesel truck only towing my 26BH. I am thinking a diesel will be the next one though in 10 years when we start thinking about a 5th wheel.

I pulled with a gasser for years and thought it did fine, but once I switched to a diesel 12 years ago, I won't go back. The mileage, power, easy to add power, but really it's just you don't ever have to floor it. Hardly ever more than 1/2 throttle. And I haven't experienced this more maintenance thing everyone talks about. Cost me $50 to change my oil twice a year.

Switched to diesel 2 years ago and haven't looked back once. Not sure what took so long to make the switch, it's like night and day difference in towing.

Gasser is ok for the smaller 5th Wheels and TTs, we had several smaller towable's we pulled with a Gasser all over the country with no problem, but now with the large 5th Wheel we currently have, a Diesel is the only way to go.

This. I just got back from the mountains of North Carolina and the highest my truck ever revved was 2400 rpm's. It mostly stayed between 15 and 1800 rpm's.
