The biggest issue is that gassers don't have HPFP's or expensive injectors that rely on diesel for lubrication. JMO but about the only thing besides drive train issues that could go wrong would be the ECU or something along that line. Gassers aren't sensitive to fuel like diesels are. A little water in the gas and no biggie. In a diesel and it can be disastrous. It's a fact that diesels are susceptible to more expensive repairs. Maintenance is more as well. Both of those can vary from owner to owner. JMO but if you don't need a diesel to tow with then save the $9000.00 it cost for the diesel option and get a gasser. Unless you tow for a living or are full timing it'll never payoff.

Very Happy with my gasser. If Toyota comes out with a their own diesel (not Cummins) I would give it consideration.
