Does anyone here tow with a Ford Flex?

I looked into the Flex as a tow vehicle but the dealer told me it was restricted to 35 sq ft frontal area. In short it could tow 5000 lbs but not a travel trailer.

My brother in law bought one. I think they are a front wheel drive. Nice vehicle to ride in but not the best for towing. I was shocked when he told me how much it cost. He could have gotten the new Eco boost half ton to pull his trailer with and used it to commute to work.

I use my Ford Flex AWD non ecoboost to tow our X17Z with no issues whatsoever. Use a WD hitch. Would recommend as a great all around vehicle and good handling while towing. I have had no issues.

We just bought a used X17Z and will be towing it with a 2016, AWD Ecoboost flex. So far, it's only been on the hitch to park the trailer as we still need to get a proper height WD hitch for it.

Ford Flex is considered an excellent towing vehicle. Many people towing big airstreams.
