Took our new 23MBH Whitehawk out on our first camping trip. Pulled it about 65 miles with a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.7 hemi, 3.21 axel ratio. Got about 13 mpg average overall. Mostly rolling hills and some flat surface.

It does seem to be either Eco or Boost but not both as I've heard this from a couple of guys at work that tow with EcoBoosts. As an unloaded daily driver you get the Eco benefit - hook up the trailer and you get the Boost benefit along with a tendency to drink more like a V8. I also think that at speeds over 60-62 when pulling a TT and your mileage sucks a bit more than usual regardless of what's under the hood.

With my Ridgeline and 23B...

On a 1000mi round trip from Cincinnati OH to Traverse City MI, I got about 10mpg towing in the flatlands and 8mpg towing in the hills of MI.

As a daily driver, I get about 17-18 MPG.

10-14 mpg

Get 10-12mpg in the hills and up to 14mpg on the flats pulling my 184BH with my 2013 Escape Ecoboost. See my Idaho trip post from last year.

Just got a new Ecoboost with the 2.7, look for updates after our Disneyland trip this October!

Got 9.8 mpg on a 5000 mile trip to Newfoundland and Maine/Vermont/NH.

Lots of hills and 65-70 mph on the highways.

I should note, I had an electrical connector problem on my trip from Minn. to Gulf Shores. Outside of Mobile we went into "limp" mode, which effectively shuts down the turbos. Did make it to Gulf Shores to set up. The next day, the drive (not towing) to the dealer for service was interesting - with no boost, it was just like driving my old Plymouth Reliant! You could get up to freeway speed, but you had to be a bit patient. Dash mpg for the 20 mile drive was 29!! I wonder if there is an aftermarket switch I could buy......
