Factory tire pressure 2500HD 18" wheels

We just picked up 2011 Chevy 2500HD that originally had 20" wheels. Knowing the lack of tire choices, I had them swap out a set of 18" wheels off another 2500. What I'm not sure of, is if the recommended tire pressure is the same for the 18's.

Utilize the stamps on the side of the tires for your tire pressure and load range, most 2500 trucks run max 80 psi loaded max weight, my truck I inflate to max only when towing and loaded, otherwise I inflate the front at 65 and the rears at 50 psi

I run my tires at 80 rear and 70 front. Think of running the front at 80 as well. Thinking it will help mpgs. Run it this way unloaded or loaded. Fyi my tires are rated at 80psi

65 and 80 are the pressures listed in the door jam for me -- I run at 65 and 70 non-towing and 65 80 when towing.

The only issues when not towing is TPMS. The computer alerts at 20% lower pressure than set at the factory. This means I get the lights and alerts when the rears are less than 68, which certainly is not to low but sets off the alert regardless.

This can be corrected with a computer re-flash, but I am not going to that trouble and expense.

Thanks for all the input, mine says 60 front and 75 rear for the original 20" wheels.
Sounds like its probably not much different for the 18"s.

I leave mine at 60/80. To much trouble to readjust with my TSPS.

The dealership looked at the truck they came off of, its says 55 front, 70 rear. Right now they are set at 60 and 70, think I'll just let that be good enough. We're not going to be pushing this truck all that hard anyway, we should end up with close to 1000lbs of extra payload, which is much better than being right at or over like we were with the 1500.

My 2012 GMC 2500HD D/A crew cab short bed says to run the front tires at 60 and the rear at 70 and that's what I have done for the past three seasons with no problems. Tow a Jayco 26.5 HT RLS and a 19" Crestliner behind the FW with no problems. I see no reason to pump the rear tires, on my truck, up to 80 pounds when the 70 seems to work great.

The door sticker on my Ford says 65psi all the way around. The Michelin tires on the truck are max rated at 80psi. I do the same thing when I tow, rears get 70psi and leave the fronts alone. No sway issues here.
