High Mileage Tow Vehicles

I broke in an 8.1L for my dad before we drove it to Alaska in 02. I LOVED that pickup, but I had to hand over the keys when I got up North. We ran 2800 miles in 47 hours around 75 mph and got 21mpg because it was running at 1400rpm. I will get 18 at 65 mph in my 6.7 F350, which has power, but just not the same.
