Hitch Noise

Is there some way to secure my WDH shank in the TV's receiver to prevent that fairly constant rattle.

For clarification.... Do you mean you hear a rattle when not towing or a rattle when you are towing your trailer?

Both (but more when the trailer's not attached).

I bought what I thought was a beefy bracket off e-trailer but it kept coming loose and then after one season broke. I got this one for the bike rack rattle on the back of the trailer and it worked great and never loosened at all so I bought one for the trailer hitch. I have not used it much but I think it will work great because it has 3/4 inch bolts unlike the other one I had. I also put 2 aluminum shims that about .080 thick to fill the gaps around the receiver before I clamp on the bracket. This help to keep less stress on the bracket so the bracket ends up just holding it tight and the shims in place. I have heard some people use door shims but I had no luck so I made the permanent metal ones. Here is a link where I bought the bracket. Good luck hope this helps it worked for me I have no rattle from the receiver.

Thanks for the recommendation! Just ordered the following:

Now, about that noisy anti-sway device....

Remember to add some kinda shim in the hitch to fill in the slop because it will move around causing what you just bought to slowly loosen overtime. As you tighten it down more and more it will eventually break down. It takes the hitch tighter and a shim combo to really make it work well. For the sway noise what kind of WDH do you have? Look up on YouTube the Recurve R3 this is what I have and it is fairly new so not to many people have them but it works awesome! It is designed to move with the trailer more flawlessly in turn gives more clearance and I have little to no noise.
