Towed my FB22 with Honda EU3000 Gen misc. tools and extra spare tire in the TV from New Jersey to Alaska and back with 1/2 ton F150 tow pkg 11500 tow rating. had absolutely no problems. Used tow/haul mode the whole trip.
Grades were no problem going both up about and down. While on the interstates kept speed about 63 mph. Averaged 9.3 mpg. Total length of trip 11700 miles. Can't wait to do it again.

Well I did things different...
I replaced my 04 Chevy 1500 with my 12 Chevy 2500 in anticipation in upgrading to this TT
Really planned to get a little heavier TT, like the 32BHS.

Heading out in a week for our first road trip with the new [2010] 2500HD Duramax towing the 2014 WHawk 30dsre. Total towing with the Duramax totals 6 miles when I took it to a closeby State Park [I live on State Park Rd] to check out the level and balance of the TT/TV. Wife and I [and dogs] are yanking at the bit to hook up and go. After some very unseasonal "COLD" for S KY/Tn, we're ready to see the Gulf. Like others on here, the 08 1500 handled the WH fine, plenty of power with only effect was some elevated Tranny temps. I had noticed some similiar tranny temp increases with the older lighter TT but went in to the WHawk upgrade planning on upgrading the TV in a couple years. Long story but the upgrade happened same year so here we are.
My expectations based on comments on the forum, are easier towing with no engine or tranny issues, better MPG's, and a certain feeling that we are driving the preferred TT/TV setup. For sure its not a show off thing, but just a feeling that we can throw in the genny or extra tools [5 gal D fuel can] and the extra stuff DW likes to throw in without raising the blood pressure.
Will give a report after we get south.

It's actually amazing how much the stress is lowered knowing the TV is so capable. Sounds like a fun trip.

Thanks. Blast off in 3 days and counting. Started loading the truck bed yesterday. Found another benefit with the HD, the standard bed is a foot or more longer than the short bed on our 1500 crew cab. Makes a big difference in how we load the truck. We have a clam shell roof carrier that we use in the bed of the truck to load things that we don't want exposed to the elements. Can now set it front to rear [instead of side ways to the tailgate] while still having room near the cab for the truck box and other camping items. We trimmed down when we went to the bigger TT so we could handle it with the 1500. Have added several new things and some of the purged items since we now have the extra fire power. Still taking on the stuff we have "Used" on recent trips. Fighting temptation to fill the bed of the truck, but will stick with the plan.
My first Diesel trip and the first real roadtrip with the loaded White Hawk. Combined TV / TT length is near 54' so that will take some getting use to.

We did the same in regards to really holding back when loading out 28DSBH when she was towed by the F150. While we don't load it excessively or with things that we don't need, just having the buffer that the 3500 provides makes the trip a lot more enjoyable.
We just booked our road trip to Mt. Rushmore/Badlands and Yellowstone for this summer. I'm actually looking forward to the tow.

sorry for being off topic but if you are heading to rushmore may I suggest riding the steam train between keystone and hill city.

Trip so far has been great with the 2500. Duramax very smooth and locks on speed setting with cruise. Drove 65mph on interstate most of the way and got right at 10 mpg pulling the White Hawk 30dsre. Pulls so easy that it would be easy to forget its back there. Reminded myself about 500 times to take wide turns and not turn in to tight quarters. Went to one truck stop and used the big rig lane. The oversized pump nozzle is really nice. Had to get creative at the current CG site after getting yelled at for parking the TV in the grass [actually dirt]. Ask CG host and got ok to park with the front wheels off the paving. The extra length takes some getting use to.
