Question Jay Feather Sport 226 hitch

I headed out early this morning thinking I was about to buy a travel trailer of another brand. Unfortunately, when we looked at it, it smelled of tobacco smoke and my wife said "NO!" On the way home, I stopped and looked at a 2010 Jayco Jay Feather 226, and ended up putting a deposit on it.

Before I go pick it up, I would like to "pre-adjust" the ball height on my WDH. Does anyone happen to know the coupler height on this model when the trailer is sitting level?

Also, is it correct that this trailer uses a 2" hitch ball instead of a 2-5/16" ball used by most other travel trailers? I'm sure a 2" ball would handle it fine since this is such a light trailer, but I will need to replace the ball on my WDH if such is the case.

WoodLark,

Welcome to JOF

I can't answer your questions, but a call to Jayco Tech Support should work if all else fails: 574-825-5861

If you have the VIN of the Sport, that may help when you contact Jayco.

Bob

Thanks to Rustic Eagle, I did call Jayco this morning. A very nice young lady answered my questions quickly. The height is 20", and the ball is 2" dia.
