So instead of trying to jockey with our cumbersome truck, we can have more maneuverability with the dolly. Or at least that it what we hope!

Since that's the case, I'd be inclined to offer to fix his fence myself, provided he signed some sort of liability waver.

I've always liked the Cayenne, but not sure I would use it as a tow vehicle if I had one. Not a comment on it's ability, more a comment on how I would baby it.
My brother has a Macan GTS. It is incredible. Oddly, it came with a factory hitch, which looks weird on the Macan and he has absolutely no use for it.

I have had a few interesting looks. Some people still don't know Porsche makes an SUV. Lots of people ask about it. Mine is the "S" model. I ordered this one and checked way to many boxes.
As I've been told by lots of Porsche people and the HQ, you don't need to baby these cars they are meant to be driven. You have the least amount of problems by just driving it. They are surprisingly well built.
The Macan is a great "little" car but its towing is only ~4400lbs.

Yes, I think it may come to that this summer. It just drives me nuts when neighbors have no concept of being "neighborly!" We have camped for years and I don't think we have ever had a problem where several people showed up from nearby sites to lend a hand.
Thanks for your note!

I can answer that one, I have a 2010 GMC Canyon with the 5.3L V8. Max tow capacity with a weight distributing hitch is 6,000 lbs.
On the new body style Canyon/Colorado the 2.8L Turbo Diesel will get you 7,600 lbs of towing and 12,700 GCWR. It will also get you 369 ft-lb of torque at 2,000 rpm.

The caveat being that it's only got a 900# or 1000# payload.

Just goes to show how under valued the payload sticker is in some circles
You can get a used aircraft tug tractor for 10,000 dollars that will pull a C-5 Galaxy, I'd rather drive the Porsche of course.

Our 2011 V-6 VW Touareg is rated to tow over 7,000 pounds and we tried it out on our boat this last summer. Boat weighed a tad over 3,500 pounds and the VW pulled it effortlessly and, according to the console, got us 14 mpg there and back on about a 70 trip one-way. Only problem I had was that the boat kind of angled down due to the receiver being pretty close to the ground. Fixed that by flipping the ball so it's higher than the receiver and the boat tows pretty level.

I have mentioned that the only way my truck could pull 8100# that it is rated for is if it was a hay wagon.

Regardless, impressive that the tow bar did not snap.

We towed our HTT with an '03 Expedition 5.4 and a 7k TT would have exceeded our Rear GAWR. A tow package equipped Excursion might be up to the task.

Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated!!

Anytime! Mine saved me from having to store my TT at a storage facility, the fees alone from the storage facility that I saved will pay for my mover. I moved my neighbour's high wall Starcraft into his garage within 2' of his wall to try to maximize his garage space. Now you should be able to buy whatever TV you want. I tow mine with a 1/2 ton Hemi Dodge Ram and it has plenty of get up and go for pulling my TT thru the mountains.
