I went with gas. I just couldn't justify the extra $9k for my current needs.

Where on earth does gas tow more than diesel? I've owned both and am not trying to start any guff but cannot allow a false statement as this. Please people, look the capabilities up on the manufacturers' websites. Diesel out performs gas. By far. But yes, they do cost slightly more to maintain. There is more oil, etc.

The diesel usually can tow more, but less payload. Congrats on your new rig!

We went back and forth but they wouldn't budge so I walked out. I luckily found another 2016, not an LTZ and this one is a 2500, but in my opinion just as nice. Not as fancy but really nice and saved a few thousand more. It had everything I wanted and I picked it up last week. I absolutely love it. Need to set my hitch and everything up this weekend I hope. Our first trip is the weekend of the 23rd.......Can't wait.
I see you live in CT, I do as well, and I had the same issue with a dealer here in CT on a DRW 3500, I walked out as well and found the truck at another dealer and paid a lot less then dealer 1 was offering even with incentives

The new 6.0 will not be equal to the 8.1 Alilson but I don't think you will be disappointed if you only tow 6 times per year. My 06' 6.0 with 4speed did a good job towing our 10,000lb trailer.
I would get the gas LTZ.
