New to fifth wheel hitch under or in bed rails

Hopefully getting our first fifth wheel in july. It will be a 321rsts. I've never had a fifth wheel hitch so my fear is the in bed rails will drive me nuts and am considering underbed rails. I want to be able to slide things in my bed etc when I want to. Curious what folks opinions are on these different rails

Look at the B&W Companion Slider, I believe it's supposed to be like the standard companion (non slider, like mine), it's a turn over ball mount under the bed, and it just inserts into the ball hitch, and then you torque down on locking lever. Want a full empty bed with no rails, a socket and 1 bolt and boom, hitch and all reminants gone...

I use a B&W Companion it uses a 2 1/2" receiver in bed and bed is flat when hitch is out of truck.

We use the Pullrite superglide auto hitch and my rails are under the bed. I have hauled lots of stuff and have not had issues but I make a point of cleaning out the holes in the bed frequently so that junk doesn't plug the holes preventing the pins to be inserted. My previous truck had the rails in the bed and it wasn't a big deal so either way you go you should be fine. I cannot say enough about how happy we are with the Pullrite!

I was a little worried about having rails put in my truck as well. And sometimes its a bit of a hassle to get things (like boxes) past them when putting things in/out of the truck. But they also have the advantage of keeping things in their place - those boxes don't slide around in the bed when between or behind the rails.

So there are advantages and disadvantages. I'd get the hitch you want at the best price and don't obsess about the rails.

We have a short bed 350 with the factory "puck" mounts holding a B&W. love the hitch but our 5th will hit the cab in a tight u-turn, cost the insurance co $500 for me to learn that.
I still have the hitch but use loads of caution when making tight turns.
A flat bed is good.

Like "Kahoneys" post, I use the Pullrite Superglide with the SupeRail Mounting Kit. When the hitch is removed, a smooth bed remains. Not much fun to remove the hitch tho (heavy!). Like "BuddyRay" said, Rails have advantages and disadvantages.

I do love the hitch!

I have the above bed rails. They work as advertised. If I could do it again I would go with the under bed rails. Big reason is that with the in bed rails the hitch assembly sits a bit higher. I am at the max adjustment and my fifth wheel trailer sits a little nose high. The under bed rails would allow me to drop it the couple of inches I need to be perfectly level.

A gooseball kit gives you options like the B&W Companion and the Andersen Ultimate and will leave you with a flat bed when the hitch and goose ball are removed/inverted.

I'm also going to be getting my first 5er. I pretty much decided to go with the B&W turnover ball with the Anderson hitch. I need the bed of my truck to be flat when the hitch is out so I can load my truck camper. Reviews I've heard are that the Anderson will work in a short bed truck (mine is 6.5'). Some with sliders say they have seldom or never needed it. I like the price and weight (or lack thereof) of the Anderson. I would like to hear from anyone who has this setup and regrets it?
