New truck (well... new to me)

I sold my '04 Ranger 4x2 ext. cab a couple of months ago *tear*. I hated to see it go but I had been wanting to upgrade to something larger for a while. All of this culminated over the summer when I went on a Four Corners states road trip with my friend and her dog. Sure, the 19MPG was great, but with the three of us cramped in that small cab while driving and then sleeping in the 6' bed, it was enough to make me break down for something with more room. Not to mention wanting to have something that can tow my Jayco. So, alas, my new acquisition:

2000 Ford F-150 XLT '4x4 Off Road' package - 5.4L / 4-speed automatic w/ 3.55 LSD rear end, and 3" body lift. I've had to replace the rear end already due to a loud whine (something these 9.75"s are notorious for) and since replacing the plugs, air filter, fuel filter, and cleaning the throttle body, it's gone from 12MPG to 14.3MPG. :hihi: The individual I bought it from didn't care for it too well so I'm practically nursing it back to life. All I need now is a camper shell with a kayak rack, some beefier tires and Ranch Hand replacement bumpers and I should be good to go... at least, for a while.

Yeah, I'm putting some love into my new to me 97 F150 4.6l. I cleaned the throttle body and other little maintenance things here and there. Same boat... kind of a neglected truck when I got it but hopefully it gets me around for a while.

How do you like the 4.6L in your truck? I've always thought they were plenty powerful but that was always whilst driving a Crown Vic Police Interceptor.
