New TV question ?

Hi
We have a jayco 2013 swift bh154 that we love, I have been towing it with
A 2010 Jeep Liberty v6 with no problems. Were looking into getting an
Additional tow vehicle- it's a 2011 dodge Durango crew.
I have been reading a lot about the Durango, seems to Have pretty good tow reviews.
My question is on the Durango the tires seem so small
Will this have an impact on the towing? Does anyone else tow with a Durango?
Sorry for the dumb question

Swift 154bh
Unloaded Vehicle Weight (lbs) 2,450
Dry Hitch Weight (lbs) 260
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (lbs) 3,200
Cargo Carrying Capacity (lbs) 750

For the Durango
Gross Weight: 6500 lbs.
Maximum Payload **: 1330 lbs.
Maximum Towing Capacity **: 6200 lbs.
Cargo Capacity, All Seats In Place:

Small in what respect? Overall diameter?

When you say small, do you know the tire size? All that matters is they have a load rating sufficient to tow what you are towing.

My friend tows a lot of toys with his Durango.

Thank you!
We are going to test drive it tonight, will check the tire size and sticker in door . I am
Just use to my jeeps tires lol.
The Durango tires could be this from what I looked up
P265/60R18 109t
But not positive.
When I say small lol I meant don't seem to have the thickness
(Not sure that makes sense)

I think he probably means in sidewall (aspect ratio). Durango comes with 18" or 20" rims with 60 or 50 aspect ratio tires respectively. 50's don't have a lot of sidewall and are listed as performance tires. 265 tread width is plenty good.

I would say that you will probably tow better with the 18" rims and regular all season radials. I would think that towing performance is low on the list of design considerations in a 20" performance tire.

I actually -1 sized my rims for my winter tires (18" down to 17") and find the towing capability of the taller sidewall tires seems a bit better, but that could also be because the OEM AS tires are absolute carp!

Your talking about the height from the tread face to the rim being not as much as your Jeep. Unfortunately more and more vehicles are going for bigger rims while still keeping the height overall the same.....its all for looks , and quite frankly the less height in tire means it can't handle pot holes as easily as a smaller rim- thicker tire.
combo....But your Durango rim is 18 inch........(R18) so that is not as bad as some of the trucks now with 20 inch rims , that in times past would be 17 inch. So I doubt you will see much difference even with potholes. Don't stress about it. (If you were considering 20 inch rims , then you need to worry about less weight rating too, .........but not on the 18's )

Those low profile tires are supposed to be better handling if you like to hotrod around curves, but they ride like you have no suspension, and they are far less forgiving on rough roads. My F-150 has 275-65R18. No way I'd consider 20" rims on it.

For one thing, I think they look stupid. And I hate the ride. A 4x4 doesn't ride like a luxury sedan anyway, but with the right tires, it doesn't have feel like a deuce and a half.
