Peak backup camera

I'm looking to add a backup camera to my 2012 Nissan Frontier. Anybody have experience with the Peak brand, 4.3" specifically. I have an aftermarket Bluetooth Sony radio head unit that my phone connects to. I hear that Bluetooth can affect wireless cameras since they both operate at 2.4GHz. Looking for some real world experience to see what luck others have had. Thanks!

I bought the peak brand and returned it 3 days later. hooked it up which was easy then I tried using it what a pile junk everytime i pushed the gas pedal the picture would get the fuzzy white lines so bad you couldn't even see what you were doing. I then thought hey must be getting some electrical noise interference so I added some chokes and that didn't even solve the problem. Now I'm looking for a new back up camrea for the new rig. Got my eye on the rvs systems but don't want to spend the money however you pay for what you get. So in the end I'll probably end up with the rvs in less someone can vouch for some cheaper model. Fyi stay away from peak wireless. ..

I had a peak and it worked fine for me but would not work from the back of my 33' trailer so I ended up going with a hard wired system..

I have the Hopkins back up camera(hard wired) and love it. no issues what so ever and easy to install.

I saw the Peak wireless backup cam and viewer on sale for $49 at Farm and Fleet, this thread is old and I wondered if any recent tries with this one.


My trailer is 19.5 feet plus a Jeep Grand Cherokee, about 30 feet total. Range line of sight is quoted as 300 but I would have to mount it on the back somewhere above the spare tire so it would defineltly be non line of site.

I had one of the early small Peak brand cameras. It was okay. It did the job

Roger, it's been about 10 years when I first bought it. I sold the truck it was on 5 years ago. Backup cameras weren't common at the time and the ones that were, were expensive.

I had it on a 2006 Chevy Silverado crew cab half ton. So it wasn't all that far away, especially as compared to a motorhome.

I had one on my former tow vehicle and it worked well for the five years I owned the truck. I have one on my new TV and no issues with it for the last two years.

I use a Peak wireless backup camera out the back window of my 5th wheel. I purchased 2 extension cables and ran it out the the pin box from under the bed. I used to run the transmitter to the interior of my ‘01 Dodge but now I put the transmitter into a PVC box with magnets and stick it on the pin box. I get decent video considering I use it at 100% duty cycle. Phone Bluetooth doesn’t affect it but the Bluetooth from my old Garmin did. Once I shut it off the Peak worked better. I have been using this setup for 10 years now....wow
