Just traded in our '04 Nissan Titan for this 2012 Ram 3500 Dually long bed. We're hauling a 40ft. Pinnacle REQS. It's a 6.7 Cummins with the 4.10 axle ratio. Towing capacity, 19,900 lbs. The Titan was a great truck for our older Dutchmen Lite, but we just upgraded to Jayco. Love this rig!

And I'm not seeing a lot of Rams in this thread. Don't even say, "You know why, right?" I love my RAM!!!

Hey Kroakjr welcome to JOF,

Great looking truck, I have the light weight (1500 Laramie loaded) version and love it. Let me know what you think of the brake controller?

We're seeing more Pinnacles now that we are REALLY OUT traveling. There has been at least one at every place we've stayed and most are full body paint.

Even saw one with our floor plan!! Most seem to be 36REQS's.

Only one person we spoke to said they were having a slide issue and were trying to work through that....it's a recurring problem for them.

Here's a pic of our TV at the dealer, right before we took it home last fall. I'd get a current pic but its dirty and to cold outside for me to care

Congrats on the new truck, your wife will be more relaxed now if she is like mine. Our friends lent us their ram3500 to tow our trailer on an extended trip last summer and my wife after saying our f150 was fine realized how much better a bigger truck was. We bought a ram3500 shortly thereafter. We only made it out one time after getting the truck and she said " you can't even tell the trailer is back there.".

So glad some RAM folks are stepping up. I will let you know how the integrated brake controller works when I tow it for the first time on Friday when we take delivery. It has a factory exhaust brake, and I know that it works amazingly, even without a trailer. Thanks everyone for the comments. We're pretty stoked about this truck. MSRP with all the options was $61k, and we got it for $45k (end of 2012 closeout). Wasn't initially wanting something with so many amenities, but when we worked the bottom line, this was worth it. Happy camping!

Here are a few pics of my TV, 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland with the 5.7L Hemi and the Tow Package. Have only had my 18F EXP on the back for a few miles but I am anxious to see how it handles come spring.

Thanks big bird............I was never a fan of chrome either. Although I like the look of the front bumper I am still not sold on a full size truck having a plastic front bumper, I know if my head that it really makes no difference but I do like the look of the plastic. I like sidesteps, but up here on my last truck they end up holding what seems like 100lbs of ice and snow.

The scoops are looks only, they are solid with no pass thru. I worked on the tooling for the RAM bumpers a few years ago, well over 4 years ago now and my only had to get when I bought it was the twin pipes rear bumper.

Tow's what I have like a champ at 8mpg!
