The Avalanche is a tow "breast" - the last of the "big blocks". My 29RKS scales at
8000 lbs - empty tanks. The Avalanche pulls very well - Replaced the factory hitch with a Curt class 4, Equal-I-zer hitch, Air lift air bags - between 8 and 9 MPG.

97,000 - There's just nothing like "big block", cubic horse power for a motor head. I am second owner, truck is always garaged, and only driven a few thousand miles a year.

Let us know what kind of MPG's you are seeing out of that rig daily driving and towing. I've owned so many diesels over the years, I've lost count. This current F150 isn't cutting the payload I need, and I'm not sure I want a diesel in a Super Duty this time around.

Don't worry, I have no intention of letting it go.
I wasn't aware that the 5.3L V8 was a factory option on the Colorado/Canyon until I found this one. Turns out it was an option on the '09 through '12 model years, but they only made about 1,000 a year with the V8. 300hp bone stock, but with a few performance upgrades mine is now closer to 350hp.

Sweet. I am a fan of those for sure. Clean too. Clearly you take care of it.

It is my baby, but that doesn't stop me from using it since it is also my daily driver. I bought it 2-1/2 years ago with 38,000 miles on it and I expect to hit 100,000 miles within the next two weeks. With proper maintenance it has proven to be quite reliable.

All to often people neglect it until it's too late

I can sympathize with you. For years, I drove close to 70,000 miles a year. Over 2.5 million miles to date. Many more to go. Now I put on about 35,000 a year and friends look at me like I'm spending most of my time in the drivers seat. Just when I get a truck outfitted like I want, it's time to let it go.

Picked this up last December after my wife's lease on her Grand Cherokee ended.
