My rides

Hi, new guy on the forums. Lurked for over a year before finally joining. We had a TT in the late 90’s, when the kids were young, but sold it after a couple years. Jump forward 20 years, and I was casually looking at TT’s again. Out of the blue, my wife’s retired boss wanted to sell his old 2006 Jayco 30.5 RLS. Trailer had been extremely well maintained, and he really thought it would suit us. I was one year into a three year lease of a 2018 Ram 1500 Laramie. The short box would necessitate some mods, but he only wanted $4,500 for the trailer so we had an impulse moment and became trailer owners again lol.

Two seasons of use now and the truck and trailer have been great. However, every time I drop that pin on it I’m over payload. With the lease coming to an end soon, I started shopping for a replacement. Didn’t want another payment this quickly but I stumbled on this 2015 F350 CCLB with a 6.7L. Looking forward to our first trip in a couple weeks. I’m only guessing, but I think the new rig should tow it just fine.

Congrats! Looks great, you'll enjoy towing with it. Keep an eye on the cold side intercooler pipe (if previous owner didn't already replace it). Go aftermarket or carry a spare OE one. It will break at the least convenient time!

Thank you NorCal Eagle. I had read about that issue so I looked. Previous owner already replaced it. I agree, don’t understand why Ford would put a thin walled plastic pipe there. It would be just my luck that something like that would give up the ghost at the worst possible time lol.

I camp with 2 friends often. Back in 06 we all bought Ford PSD 6.0 for towing our rigs. This year must be the time, as each of us had bought the 6.7 PSD. one a 2016, myself a 2017 and the rich guy a new one! So far I love mine. Getting ready for the first long trip this week.

These trucks have so many features that it may take years to master just the electronics.

Had to share this. I know a longer wheelbase is better for towing. This must be a dream going down the highway...except for maneuvering in the campsite.

When I picked up my new 2016 2500HD gasser a few years ago my sales guy started going through the electronic features and I stopped him cold......, I didn't want to know

I still don't want to know.., keeping it simple

Looks great, Peter! Out of curiosity, how does the bed rug attach to the walls of the truck bed?

Thanks! Its really nice to have the truck bed clean and comfortable. The dog seems to like it!

The Bedrug attaches with hook and loop velcro. I don't have a spray-in liner, so they adhere right to the bed itself. However, they do make a kit with a different adhesive on the velcro to work with the spray-in liner.
