On the Cummins forum, The R46 recall is an extremely long thread with LOT'S of information on recall.

There is also a post on the 2nd page entitled:
"2013 3500 2WD DRW track bar bracket broke away from frame". Posters name is TejasCTD. It's believed he is one of four who have had this happen....This particular poster, from reading of his issue, very well may have been "the one" that caused FCA to issue the recall, (his pictures are included).

very informative..

just had mine checked today. All is good. Very good pickup, very powerful and excellent mileage. My son has a Duramax and he says he will get a cummins next.
Mine is a 2014 2500 Cummins with 34,000 miles in 17 months.

I would love to have a Cummins but I might have to wait a little more on that.

Thanks 3'senough, I checked and my vehicle was manufactured after the Feb 2015 date and is not subject to the recall.

So anybody know that if you are part of the recall that will they give you an incentive to trade your truck in? I call one of the dealer in Idaho but I didn't get anyone so I will try back tomorrow or Manday?

I doubt a dealer will offer any incentive to you to trade in a truck that has the R46 recall on it...No brackets due till March for repair IF re-welding isn't needed. Dealer would also be responsible to inform potential customer they would be purchasing a truck with said recall.

Maybe a buy back if issue on your truck is high risk for broken welds??

Good luck on your endeavor.

Roger that NC, thank you I have spent a pretty good amount of money on it so I will just keep it and live with it.

My truck is in the recall. Gotta love it. No parts until March (spoke to my dealer) but no compensation either. My welds looked ok but who knows. Dealer suggested not driving it.....I said like until March? How about I not make the payments until March as well.

Dufus.

I going to try another dealer this week and I hope that they can give me better news, I really wanted the 6.4L but when I bought mine I was afraid to get one because that they just came out.

Did another self inspection today after some driving in wet conditions and I am seeing evidence of bad welds on mine. I am going in for the "official" review the 7th and I am determined that mine will be subject to re-welding .

There are several spots where surface rust is present and paint chipping from the welds in straight lines. I will post my results after inspection, but I am really curious who is going to weld the bracket on and when?

Based on the TSB my entire front axle is coming off...guess I better hold off on the alignment check...

I know that some weld have to be a class 1 weld which anybody and everybody is not license to do that kind of weld, and I can see that they might be a problem if this is the case.

There is a good 3rd generation shop around me and I know a few guys that have been doing it for 30 plus years. If I should need it I will vet the dealer on who is doing it as I have a good relationship with them.

That is ridiculous... what is the part they are replacing? Do they need to completely replace the trackbar, they can't simply re-weld the original? I would be very upset if I were you. I have a 2000 mile round trip to Florida planned in February... I would be making Ram give me a loaner 2500 diesel or better if they didn't fix it in time.

I have a 2015, only recall is the airbag one. I got the letter about a week or two ago. Haven't had time to bring it in yet.
