Rev X in the powerstroke

I have been using Rev X in my 2006 Ford 6.0 Powerstroke for a few years now. I have seen an improved startup in cold weather. Stiction is almost gone after a few cranks. Truck has 150,000 plus miles and pulls our trailer almost every other weekend. I would recommend running Rev X oil additive in any Powerstroke diesel engine.

Use a better oil and rev-x isn't necessary, if your using Rotella, then keep using the Rev x

There is more to this 'stiction' story, but the condensed version below is better for this site and a 10 yr old truck:
I used Archoil AR9100 for a while* and it eliminated my stiction issue. I no longer use or need the Archoil after changing from Rotella T (15w-40) to Rotella T6 (full synthetic 5w-40). I have alternated between the Rotella T5 and T6 for a while now. However, the engine sounds better with a ' -40 weight' (either T or T6) than the T5 (10w-30).

BTW, there was no stiction issue for the first 3 years and ~270,000 mi on Rotella T (15w-40). The engine now has ~325,000 mi.

The oil (always Rotella) and filter (always Ford) is changed every 5,000 mi.

*Sorry. I don't recall how long/how many oil changes.

Just a suggestion, (I personally never had good luck with rotella in any of my 6.0 or 7.3s witch are both HEUI) I noticed much better starting performance in my 6.0 and longevity in my 7.3 with valvoline premium blue (5w in the 6L, and 15w in the 7.3). There are also some other good oils too, that's just the one I have personally tried along with Schaffer, which was also good. The rotella was so bad in our 7.3s you noticed a HUGE difference in sound and smoothness when changed at just 3k miles (alot of this has also been backed by oil analysis from others) and now looking into LE oil (Lubrication Engineers) whom many claim to have gotten 10-12k mile oil change intervals also backed by analysis testing. Again, just a suggestion to look into, haven't tried it yet but will be for my next oil change, and will also be doing analysis testing. If it indeed goes as long as stated it's worth the extra upfront cost

Whats wrong with Rotella?

I run it in my 01 7.3 for 230k miles
Run it in a 99 7.3 for 440k miles
Run it in a 04 6.0 for 430k miles
Run it in a 05 6.0 for 270k miles
Run it in various excavators, skid steers, tractors, directional drills, vertical drills, and wheel loaders for up to 7000 hours.
I've never had a oil related problem and none of it gets serviced like it should....just when we have time.

I've only had and seen issues in the HEUI trucks, i haven't been the one doing the analysis, so I don't have specifics, except that it sheers really bad and fast, like I said, it was a HUGE NOTICEABLE difference once we stopped using it in the HEUI system
