I had virtually the exact same experience with mine. 2012 GMC Sierra 1500. They worked great loaded or not, and just like you I had to tighten them up after a few hundred miles.
One of my favorite improvements was how much better the truck drove empty. I got A LOT less body roll and that greatly improved the unloaded handling of the truck. And I got a lot less bounce in the rear when I was towing my trailer.
My ONLY regret on those was NOT removing them before I sold the truck. I could have sold them to someone else and made a little of my money back because they were kind of pricey. New RAM 2500 is coil sprung, so I can't use them even if I needed them (which I don't
