Shank length differences?
I need a drop shank for my Blue Ox Sway pro, and I have two choices that will meet my needs. The 9" 9 hole shank and the 12" 9 hole shank. From what I can tell, the biggest difference is the improved clearance (12") in the rear for really sharp maneuvering in reverse- less likely to bind on the tail of the truck, but if I remember what I have heard, shorter shanks are better all around to prevent sway. Can somebody with more experience than me weigh in on this? The 9" shank is backordered with no ETA- the 12" I can have to my door in a week. Would there be a huge difference?
Thanks guys and gals!
EDIT I suppose I should add that the existing shank is 10".
