Solved My Tow Vehicle Problem!

I was tired of feeling underpowered when pulling the TT so after a year of looking I finally found a 2004 Dodge Cummins to replace the Durango with. I can't wait to see how this thing handles the Jayco in the mountains!

Welcome to the Cummins side...lol

Take it from me, it will pull GREAT! I went to a diesel back in 07 and will never go back to a gas motor. Recently took a trip from FL to Indiana using I-75. My truck did not break a sweat going through the mountains. Just need to watch your EGT's and maybe force it out of OD if it starts "lugging" to much.

If interested in another forum to join, try: http://www.dodgeownerforums.com/smf/index.php

A great bunch of folks with unlimited diesel experience. Look up Smitty if you go there.

Nice tow vehicle. A lot of people would say it was one of the best years produced (they did have a '04.5 with H.O. cummins as well) . You should get many, many, dependable miles from it (provided it was maintained properly and not abused) . You might want to consider adding some guages such as trans temp..EGT, Fuel Pressure etc. or electronic monitor/programmer to give you feedback while towing.
As krsmitty pointed out a forum with lots of info...there's also www.cumminsforum.com and www.dieseltruckresource.com with lots of info as well.

Please remember that when coming in off the highway or anytime towing to let the diesel cool down for 2 min before shutting off... this will protect your turbo..
