Your measurements look good assuming your TV's front fender measurement was around 37 1/2" (or more) with TV/TT hitched but WDH not engaged. Also, most folks don't realize that it's best to drive the TV/TT combo around the block after making "static" WDH adjustments, then re-check the TV's front fender height (some suspensions may settle a little....rise/drop).

The TV rear fender measurement is what it is, and a 1" to 2" drop is common after addressing the TV's front suspension requirements.

If it was my setup I would dial-in the WDH adjustment such that the fender height was as close to 37" as possible with WDH engaged (but not below 37"). I realize that some TV manufactures specify the 50% rule with the front fender height when making WDH adjustments....., but I found with my particular TV/TT set-up a 50% fender height return doesn't equal 50% weight return.

Throw a copy of the CAT scale walk-thru in the glove box, and as you mentioned visit the CAT scale when the opportunity arises.

Bob

I got busy and didn't follow up on how my issue was resolved. Posting it in case it helps anyone else. After all of my adjustments I took it to a scale and weighed in. The trailer was 5700 lbs and tongue weight was 700 for a 12.2% tongue weight. The truck had room to spare on both axle weights, however with all of our family, truck accessories, etc, we were 120 lbs under GVWR. I called Blue Ox and they said with my tongue weight I was right between the 750 lb bars and the 1000 lb bars. They recommended I stick with the 1000 lb bars. They also recommended going up one more link, even though the scale said I was near perfect for weight returned to front axle.

I tried it one link up and the trailer did tow slightly better but I still found my self feeling uneasy and the trailer pushing the truck around. We decided to trade in two of our vehicles and go from a 3 vehicle family to 2 and purchase a 2017 Chevy 2500HD with the 6.0L Gas engine. So far we have only had one trip with the new combination but the experience was much better. I didn't find myself stressed out or worried at any point on the trip. It isn't a perfect comparison as the weather conditons were better, but I will say it was much more stable around passing semis.

I am not sure what the issue was before, I know there are plenty of people happy towing with similar combinations to what we had. The truck we had was used, maybe it had some suspension issues, or some past history we didn't know about. Either way our 1st trip with the new combination was much better and I am looking forward to getting it out again!

Oh yeah, added bonus... 1000 lbs of additional payload. No more worrying about what I put in the bed of the truck.
