This settles the "is it enough truck?" argument
None of us have enough truck. Only this guy. Wife saw this today and was lucky enough to get a pic snapped. And its a Jayco. Double score!

Not as unusual as you may suspect. I've seen several each year at the campground we were working at.

I've seen this setup with a Smart Car on the deck between the cab and the 5th wheel!

They are cheaper used than a new diesel P/U. Another plus, air ride suspension and seats! 20K trailer won't make it sweat.

I've seen multiple medium duty trucks towing a 5'er but rarely do I see a full fledged semi hauling a camper around.

I think the tongue weight of the 5th wheel is too much for that truck! LOL!

I saw one like that once that had a really nice looking custom-built cab. It was sweet. But I wonder what kind of MPG's those get pulling a "little" 35' or 40' 5th wheel around.

Probably great mileage. Squisher engine probably never gets much above idle RPM with that load.

I wonder what that rig sounds like when he fires up to leave the adjacent campsite at 4:30 in the morining?

Must be a kit that you can get, because I've seen one around here too. Unless it's the same one, which isn't unlikely.

There is a camper that I see where I am hosting now that comes in with a Volvo 770 TV. I forget what his 5'er is, but he says he gets 8 mpg regardless of speed, wind, up hill or downhill. And with his 2 big saddle tanks he can go half way across the country without refueling. But when time to fill up he almost needs a new mortgage.

Quieter than the early Dodge Cummins.

As someone already posted, no worse than some of those diesel pickups with the "absolutely necessary" loud exhaust. To be fair, some of the gassers are loud, too.
I see a few single axle tractors pulling big travel trailers up here in Canada. With air suspension and auto shift, beautiful cab interiors, why not?

I've seen them, too. IIRC there's an outfit in western Canada that does custom TVs with space for a Smart or other tiny vehicle on that rear deck. Saw a thread about it over on IRV2.com.

Search RV Haulers. They'll work with you to get your requirements, find a used truck (they usually stick with Volvo's),single it(if wanted) and
refinish to your liking and budget. Bed's can be custom made but those smart car beds are expensive (10-20k). Range anywhere from 60-100k+ once they're done depending on year, trans, mileage and customizations. They will even take care of customs and deliver it to you.
I may or may not have had some down time that needed to be filled looking at big trucks. Pretty cool stuff.
