Tires

What tires do you recommended for St 185/80/R13 on a Jayco 23B hybrid?

It currently has Goodyear Marathon with good tread life, but they have some sidewall weather cracking. I've read Maxxis is a good trailer tire, but it seems there is no great trailer tire.

A local shop quoted me for a TowMax STR, but I'm not reading anything good on them.

I had a 38 foot three axle fifth wheel that we towed all over the east coast with a lot of weight in it. We tried every tire from Carlisle to Goodyear and then I found the Maxxis trailer tires. I was using a heavier rate tire but the Maxxis tires were the best tire I have ever had on any trailer. They were special order only around here but worth it...

From experience, if you have cracks in the sidewalls, expecially Marathons, get rid of them ASAP. I had them on my 5er, just sitting over the winter, and didn't even notice the cracks. Tires and tread looked real good. Come spring, there was a piece of the sidewall laying on the ground beside one flat tire, and a bulge where another was getting ready to blow. Replaced with Maxxis as suggested by others on the JOF, and have had no further problems. BTW, I understand that all GY trailer tires are now made in China, and there are many problems, just FYI.
