Metro12--Does your outlook have a tow package? If not you may want to do some up grades on the tv. Keep one thing in mind , while you have enough power to pull the weight, does it have the equipment ( coolers etc) to pull against the drag created by the tt. There are lots of posts on this forum that will explain all the factors you need to consider to ask" can i tow this trailer with this tv" Larry

I tow the same trailer with a Chevy Traverse which is the same as the Outlook. It tows really well but I do have the factory Tow Package. I towed the trailer with a minivan with an aftermarket hitch and transmission cooler. The minivan was not enough. If you have the tow package you are good to go.

Cheers

Thanks so much guys awesome reply time. Yes my outlook has the tow package with the larger coolant container n heavy duty battery. What does that trailer button actually do if I press it while towing? Thanks again have a piece of mind now.

I am not familiar with that model but it most likely locks out the overdrive to prevent the transmission from hunting back and forth between gears while towing.

I always tow with the towing button. It locks out the higher gears and I think it also increases the pressure of the transmission fluid. I was told it should always be in towing mode while towing.

Cheers

You might want to message lsuduke on this forum. He is towing a 2013 Jayfeather 228 with his outlook. He might be able to provide more insight on towing with the Saturn Outlook. Ryan

Metro12,

Best to check your owners manual on the function of the Tow/Haul button and it's actual function, not all transmissions are the same.

In my case engaging the Tow/Haul button with my GM TV it will increase the RPM between gear shifting, but doesn't lock out overdrive. I engage Tow/Haul every time I tow my TT.
