Tow vehicle question

Hello my Jayco friends. This is my first thread so please be patient with me. Hope I'm in the right forum.

I have a question regarding my tow vehicle. I just purchased a 2014 Jayco flight swift slx (20')/(2500#) and am wondering if I am going to have enough vehicle to tow it with. I have a 2014 Ford Flex SEL with a Class III hitch. From what I have read in the manuals I think I should be ok. Just wanted some opinions from those of you with some experience.

Thanks, Jack

Not sure what model SLX you have but the heaviest of them tops out at 3500lbs GVWR. And your Flex should have a 4500lbs tow rating if using a weight distributing hitch.

Sounds like you should be just fine. Take it to a CAT scale the first trip out and weigh everything and you will know where you are and if you need to adjust anything.

Cheers

You will quite possibly be over on your max hitch weight even with a WDH. Ford States 200 / 450 as max numbers. If you are pulling a 3500 pound trailer and come in at or close to 15% TW you are at 500+ - The other thing you want to check is your total payload. This is found on the tire sticker in your drivers side door jamb.

I just went and checked the manufacturers sticker and it says the GVWR is 2364#. So it looks like I should be ok. Thank you for the responses.
