I read somewhere a while back that they sold them "refurbished" manufacturer direct...

You could look on some other RV forums that have for sale sections. I found mine on Craigslist. Had to drive 60 miles. No biggy. I'd drive a couple 100 if needed. So maybe broaden your search a little.
They're hard to find used so it takes awhile sometimes. It took me a few months to finally find one. Probably won't help if you need one sooner.
Lots of users on the Airstream owners forum. Maybe someone over there could help.

This is a problem I have with my current hitch (Fastway E2 that I never should have bought for this trailer).
I had originally set my mind on an Equal-i-zer 1400/14000 for my 33 ft trailer, but I'm seriously considering the Reese SC with 1500 lb bars.
BTW, my 3/4T Ram gasser tows our trailer (and could do a lot more) without issue. Nice thing about having the gas engine is the extra payload capacity. MPGs towing our 28BHBE (weighing between 8000-8500 lbs) are between 9 and 11. I have the 6.4L Hemi.

Great info! Thank you

Thanks to all towing a 35' tt with 1100+lb tongue with a 3/4 ton for your experiences! (EagleBob too!)
With that, we had several options that were at the top of the list and finally decided on which hitch to go with....
One of the hitches available from our dealer received some reliable feedbacks. So with dealer availability as well as reviews received, we wound up selecting the Equalizer 14k.
Thanks to all!

Post back up after you've had a chance to use it, let us know how you like it.
I'm in the process of deciding which hitch I want too, and would love any feedback I can get. The EQ 14K is one of two I've narrowed my search down to.

WAHOOOO Denise is BACK.... (bring the earwigs back with you?)
My TT is a 30' box about 34' hitch to tail and comes in at 8000 lbs my 3/4 ton tows it well. Best hitch you will ever be able to get is the Hensley/ProPride. Maybe check sites like E-Bay.. I got mine used for $350.00 then contacted Hensley and bought the warranty for it... the 2 best things I have ever done in RVing.

Although our tt will be built the first week of April, our truck won't be delivered here until third week of April. As a result, we will pick up the tt about a month from now. I'll post how it goes

Thanks Seann! LOL, I totally forgot about my earwig friends! Holy Cow, that was a loooooong time ago.
We would love to purchase a ProPride or Hensley, but our budget is maxed out. I will keep watching the ad's to see if any pop up before we actually take delivery of our new tt
