Truck mud flaps?

We have the factory GM flaps behind the duals but wondering if a bigger wider flap off the back end is worth looking into to help protect the front end of the 5ver.

Don't know how wide the factory flaps are, but as long as they are at least as wide as the pair of tires, they should be OK. I doubt if the flaps will protect much against water and dirt, but the main thing is to protect against throwing up rocks and pebbles, which come mainly out of the tread. It seems to me that flaps wider than the tires would just get in your way. JMHO

I built a bracket that slips over my WDH extension that holds a 24" regular semi truck mudflap on each end. The flaps were trimmed so that they are about 2" off the ground when hooked up and fully loaded. They work great!

I've seen guys with a 2" receiver flap that spans the entire length of the bed and hangs about 2" off the road. I have the rigid molded flaps on mine truck for all 4 tires and still get some grime on the lower face. Rocks usually don't make it up there due to the angle of projection but rather the dirt does due to wind current. Don't know how much the flap runs on cost but might be worth looking into. The good part is that you can remove it easily since it is in the receiver and not permanent.

We have the Husky Mud Flaps and they seem to cover the dual rear wheels pretty good and keep the rocks and debris off the front of the 5th Wheel.
