w/s washer leaks

We have an 05 GMC Duramax/Allison- The w/s washer will not hold liquid- Has anyone else had this problem and is it a DIY job? The washer container is plastic [ of course ] and is mounted in front of and below one of the 12 volt batteries- How does one expose the container to repair or replace the leaker? Any info is much appreciated as I really don't want to hire this job out- THANX in advance for all info- DD

Your line has a hole in it from battery acid.
If you crawl under the left front you can see the bottom of the tank you can take the hose off of the pump and pull it up from the top. Usually the plastic hose get holes in it and you can get some rubber hose that fits tight and repair it that way. Sometimes it is the pump that develops a crack in it.
If you have to remove the tank you have to take out the battery and the battery tray to get to all the bolts. It is easy as long as you don't over think it. Lol

My 2006 GMC Company Truck did the same thing but it was the plastic washer reservoir that cracked on the bottom, got a new one and replaced it.
It is not that bad to change out but it is a PITA since you have to remove the battery.

I had a leak in the pump on mine early this year and also a hairline crack in the tank. This sounds like a common problem with age.
